James 2:8-13

How do we guard ourselves from discriminating with the gospel?

church” can be unintentional but still toward others.

Being unloving toward

people is as as being unloving toward .

Living justly requires

people by them first.

A “

church” people the way they want to be .

Loving others

than ourselves and possibly the future.

Loving mercy requires

our own in the lives of all people.

“Ninevehtism” is spiritual heart disease effectively treated by diet and exercise.
Exercise: Who do you need to get to know by name and story?
Diet: How will you become accountable for hearing and doing God’s Word?

Journey Group Discussion Questions:
How can our sense of justice often turn into a subtle form of favoritism towards the familiar or people we prefer? How can a focus on God’s mission rather than our own sense of right and wrong correct favoritism?

God’s commission shows that we have the authority to judge under limited circumstances. What are some of those circumstances, and how can the exercise of that authority bring mercy and contribute to spiritual transformation?

If living justly requires knowing and loving people, who do you need to get to know better in order to live more justly and mercifully?
