-What hurt from another human has been the hardest to deal with?

-What did it feel like and how did you want to respond?

-Have you ever responded to a hurt in a way that hurt the other person? Tell us about that.

“You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also. —Matthew 5:38-39

-Why do you think Jesus would say that?

If you are sued in court and your shirt is taken from you, give your coat, too. If a soldier demands that you carry his gear for a mile, carry it two miles. —Matthew 5:40-41

-Why do you think Jesus would say that?

No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it back. This commandment I received from My Father.” —John 10:18

-Do you think it would be possible for you to “Act like” Jesus in the face of injustice, if you “thought like” Jesus about your life? If you didn’t see it as something being taken from you, but something you willingly gave to the other.

Give to those who ask, and don’t turn away from those who want to borrow. —Matthew 5:42

-Where do you find this hard?
