Sermon on the Mount – Week 11
Matthew 7:24-27
Matthew 7:24-25 ESV – Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
Matthew 7:26-27 ESV – And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
“If you put my words into practice, you are building your life on a rock. If you ignore my words, you are building your life on sand.”
LIFE’S
Matthew 5:45b ESV – …For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV - Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.

Romans 8:38-39 ESV - nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Is your faith established and built upon a foundation that will sustain you when life’s storms come?
Are you allowing the circumstances of this life to determine your commitment to Jesus? Good or bad.
Psalm 91:1-2 NLT - Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT – So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold.

Matthew 7:21 ESV - Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 7:28-29 ESV – And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, 29 for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.
Don’t just be amazed at the Words of Jesus, BE MOVED to action by the words of Jesus!
Romans 2:7 NLT - He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.
