A Few Good Men

Happy Fathers’ Day to all of the magnificent men, who hold the charge of Father!

God is the heavenly Father, and the first person of the trinity. He is the Father and creator of all things.

John 1:3

God is our heavenly Father

Every earthly father is also a son of the heavenly Father.

As earthly fathers, we are challenged to reflect God’s example of love and leadership on Earth. (This is our standard, as Christian fathers).

There is a weight that comes with the office of father, unlike any other in the world. Today more children are born out of wedlock than in marriages, so there is a worldly social acceptance that allows for invisible fathers.

That’s a worldly standard. Don’t fall for it! God is still holding men to His higher charge and the assignment as head of the household.

Gentlemen, the enemy wants more than your title; he wants you to drop your responsibility.

Let’s look at a few good men in the bible and see why.

Adam was not only the first man, he was also the first Earthly Father.

He had the toughest assignment of all, because he had no fleshly examples to follow.

This is where the enemy’s revelation comes from. We don’t do so well, without an example or a standard. If he can keep you out of the equation, he can hide the blueprint from generations to come.

When Eve sinned God came looking for Adam, not Eve. He came looking for the head, the one He charged with responsibility.

Genesis 3:9-10

(Hint: When God asks a question, He already knows the answer.)

God is looking for a few good men, who freely choose to obey Him and desire to submit to His love willingly.

We ought to know there is nothing ever truly hidden from God’s sight.

Psalm 139:7-12
The consequences of a father’s sin is not limited to him.
It will impact the entire household and can curse generations to come because he is the head.

1 Corinthians 11:3

A man is the covering so he gets hit first. If you move him, you get to create chaos in the entire family. The household is exposed without the office of Protector, Provider Prophet and Priest.

Jesus is our covering so we should mirror Him.

Abraham, Father of the Jewish Nation. What an intimidating assignment. Abraham covered an entire nation. He passed one of the most difficult tests ever when God told him to sacrifice his child as an offering. When God saw Abraham was willing, He spared Abraham’s son. He was a great man of faith and the bible says “the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness”.

When we remove fathers from the house, we remove the examples that male faith can provide. Men provide leadership, instruction and stability.

It’s the foundation of information for the next generation.

Abraham was not perfect however, God blessed and provided for him anyway.
Like Abraham, God wants to use us in spite of our shortcomings.

Wherever your shortcomings may be, remember God can call things that aren’t, as though they are. (Romans 4:17)

When Abraham was in lack for children, God took him outside for a larger perspective!

Genesis 15:5

God wants to take the limits off of us today.

God will rescue and support us through our foolish mistakes. If you fail today, ask for forgiveness and try even harder tomorrow.
God’s purposes and plans, are revealed in us in phases over a lifetime of obedience, so don’t give up

We can use Isaac for our last point.
He could have resented his father for offering him as a sacrifice, yet Isaac was an obedient son. He learned the importance of trusting God early.
On his deathbed, his children came to get a blessing from his lips!

Genesis 27

When we remove the fathers from the house, we miss the person with the authority, to give the blessing on the next generation.
God gave fathers the weight and the authority to speak into the life of their children!

Fathers be careful what you say. The time will come when you can speak
to your children’s destiny!

Isaac’s son Jacob (his name means trickster), went on to be the father of the 12 tribes of Israel, because His father blessed him.

Genesis 27:28-29

And yet, the world says abandon the responsibility of fatherhood. Break the intended chain of authority God designed for His Kingdom.

The surest way to kill anything is to remove the head. Remove the Protector, Provider, Prophet and the household Priest.

No daddy - No disciples

The most important father in the Bible is God himself. His love, kindness, patience, wisdom, and protectiveness are hard to live up to. But with His help, we can do all things, and handle our assignment.

But the loudest voices in the world are telling us all it’s ok, stay seated, don’t stand up, and be a man! Forfeit your assignment and the inheritance that goes with it for your children.

Fathers God chose you for this time and this season to carry your family in the way of faith for the Lord. He just needs a few good men!

Deuteronomy 11:18–19

Psalm 78:4

1 Timothy 2:8

As fathers, every sacrifice we make is in love, to prepare our children, for a better life.
