God has raised GRACE up to be a prophetic house. A prophetic house is a place that exists to hear and heed God’s voice. We live in an hour where hearing the voice of God is not just an option, rather it is a must.

“And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.”
(Deuteronomy 8:3 KJV)

Old Testament Prophetic Context:
“Would that all the Lord’s people were prophets. That the Lord would put His Spirit upon them.”
(Numbers 11:29)

New Testament Prophetic Context:
*“For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” *
(Revelation 19:10)

New Testament Prophetic Foundation:
1 Corinthians 14:3 NKJV: “But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.”

1 - Edification means…

2 - Exhortation means…

3 - Comfort means…

Let’s key in on this last point. The vocalization of the thoughts of God. One of my favorite chapters in the Bible is Psalm 139. The message is so precise. The language is so rich. The story is so detailed. The encouragement it gives is absolutely life changing. In the midst of this meticulously written Davidic Psalm there are two verses that reveal God’s awesome, personalized thoughts.

How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would
outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you. – Psalm 139:17-18
, NIV…It says, “unto me.” His thoughts are unto me. They are toward me. They are regarding me. They are Me-ward. These
two words imply a laser-like thought-action in my direction…When God thinks those very thoughts also act. God didn’t have to speak the world into existence, although He chose to. His thoughts are so powerful they can act, move and create all by themselves. His thoughts are that potent…

Understand Who This Is Who Is Thinking About You:
o He is omniscient. God knows everything. He is all-knowing. He is constantly aware of you and everything you do.
o He is omnipresent. He is everywhere at the same time. He is high and low, near and far, and deep and wide at the same time. Wherever you go He is already there. He was with you when you left. He is with you as you go. He is already there when you get there. There is no way to escape the One who is everywhere all the time.
o He is omnipotent. He has all power. He is all-powerful. There is no foe, no force, and no enemy that can defeat Him. He created everything and He has power over everything.
o He is eternal. He was, He is and He is to come. He is in eternity past, in time, and in eternity future all at the same time.
This is the God who constantly thinks about you. His heart is toward you. This is the God who thinks and speaks from an all-knowing, everywhere at the same time, all-powerful, eternal place. That is enough revelation to cause you to give Him praise.
Throughout history God has shared His thoughts with mankind through words. There are many ways God speaks. That subject is for another time. God spoke His thoughts to ancient Israel through the prophets. He communicated His thoughts with the early church through the prophets. And to this day He continues speaking His thoughts to us through prophets. How does He do this? Through prophets prophesying. Why? Prophecy is verbalizing God’s thoughts.

“If you want to hear God’s voice clearly and you are uncertain, then remain in His presence until He changes this
uncertainty. Often much can happen during this waiting for the Lord. Sometimes, He changes pride into humility;
doubt into faith and peace; sometimes lust into purity. The Lord can and will do it.” – Corrie Ten Boom

Ten Characteristics of Prophetic People:

The apostle Paul’s powerful prayer in Colossians 1:9, “We ask God to give you complete knowledge of His will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding,” lets us know that Paul cared about the church’s ability to know God’s will with wisdom and understanding. That is a powerful definition of the prophetic. - Patrick Kiteley
