And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. —Matthew 16:18 NIV
How will the church be different (after COVID-19)?
1. Online Campus is here to stay. (Heritage Live)
LOVE ONE MORE to JESUS and ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER TO GROW!
2. Safety and Cleanliness are essential.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. —Philippians 2:3-4 NIV
3. Generosity is a distinctive of God’s people.
He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf. —Proverbs 11:28 NIV
Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle. —Proverbs 23:4-5 NIV
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. —Hebrews 13:16 NIV
One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. —Proverbs 11:24 NIV
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
All this is because you give your first and best to God even in a time of uncertainty and distress. That glorifies the gospel and shows that we serve a Savior who ran toward danger and need, not away from it. These good works glorify our gospel and our Father in heaven. —2 Corinthians 9:6-8 NIV
4. Everyone is a minister and must minister.
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. —Ephesian 4:11-13 NIV
God created you, gifted you, and called you to MINISTER!!!
5. Relationships/Grow groups are biblical.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. —Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts… —Acts 2:42-46 NIV
6. A greater polarization will take place.
“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. —Matthew 24:9-14 NIV
Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, —2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 NKJV
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
—Philippians 2:12-13 NIV
