DISCUSS
1. What happens to you when you picture yourself in Jesus’ hands being taken and blessed? In what ways are you impacted?
2. Look at the ways in which Jacob (the “heel grabber”) tried to get blessed throughout his story. In what ways do you see yourself as being like Jacob? With God and with others?
3. In what areas of your life do you seek God’s blessing (His approval, support, and help with success)?
4. How have you already been blessed? Try to make a list that you can lengthen each day this week.
5. What feelings do you experience upon realizing that you have been blessed? In what ways does the blessing you’ve experienced impact your actions?
6. At what times in your life have you tried to bargain with God or superstitiously tried to get something from Him?

PRAYER: Meditate on Ephesians 1:3 and the entire first chapter of Ephesians. Throughout the week, look for the ways in which you have already been blessed. Consider how you can enjoy life more knowing you have been taken into His hands and blessed already.
