1. Read Luke 6:38. What have you learned in this series from our thesis verse about the importance of being generous and how does this relate to sowing and reaping? Why can’t God bless Christians who are not generous with their time, affection, and resources?
2. Read Luke 6:39 & Matthew 23:23. How do Christians lead other Christians into the ditch with generosity? How do you feel knowing that other Christians are following your example with generosity? Even though Jesus endorses the tithe in Matthew 23:23 he states that there are more important things. What are these things and how do we demonstrate generosity with them?
3. Read Luke 6:40. How does being obedient to the tithe help us to be generous? Why isn’t the tithe a measure for generosity? Why is Jesus the ultimate standard for generosity? What are examples of ways that we can serve and bless others with the same attitude that Jesus had?
4. Did anything else stand out to you from the sermon that you have questions about in this passage of Scripture?
