I. THE PARENT STAGE OF DISCIPLESHIP

“When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things” (I Cor. 13:11 – NLT).

*In the PARENT STAGE of DISCIPLESHIP…everything changes.
• Priorities & responsibilities change to a different level.
• Your

level changes.
• How you life changes.



II. 4 TRAITS OF A PARENT DISCIPLE.

1) A PARENT DISCIPLE should be

about themselves.
• A PARENT DISCIPLE moves from self-centeredness to -centeredness.
• A PARENT DISCIPLE has a change.
• A PARENT DISCIPLE doesn’t pick & WHO they will love & care for.
- They love as GOD & Jesus loves (Jn. 3:16 – NIV). 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.


2) A PARENT DISCIPLE CONFRONTS.
• A PARENT DISCIPLE doesn’t bad behavior.
• A PARENT DISCIPLE confronts because they .
- They CARE for the person – I Cor. 5:5 - NIV. 5 hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.
- And they CARE for the CHURCH – I Cor. 5-6 – NIV. 6 Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough?
• A PARENT DISCIPLE speaks the truth in (Eph. 4:15 – NIV). 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.


3) A PARENT DISCIPLE EATS FROM GOD’S TABLE .
• A PARENT DISCIPLE is a “ .”
- They the relationship with the Father (Prov. 8:34-35 – NIV).34 Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors,
waiting at my doorway. 35 For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord.
