Discussion Questions

Why do we give in to TEMPTATION?
A survey asked Christians a variety of questions related to sin and temptation and discovered that by far the #1 reason was this: they neglected Bible reading and prayer. In other words, they drifted away from their relationship with God. When you have given into temptation, what was your main reason? What has helped you resist?

Who is the EVIL ONE and why does he hate the BIBLE?
“Satan” means adversary (used 52x). “Devil” means slanderer (used 35x). One of Satan’s strategies is to distort the Bible, whisper lies to make people doubt the Bible, and to motivate others to oppose the distribution of the Bible (Acts 13:7-8; Mt 13:19; Gen 3:1-5). How can you hold up the truth of Scripture so that those around you are free?

Do you have a glaring AREA of WEAKNESS?
Is there an area of your life where you continue to fall into Satan’s schemes? What action step will you take this week to stand firm against the evil one so that you can bring glory to God with your life?

What are the different CROWNS we will RECEIVE?
The New Testament lists five crowns for Christians: imperishable crown (1 Cor 9:24-25; 1 Pt 1:4); crown of joy (1 Th 2:19); crown of righteousness (2 Tim 4:8); crown of glory (1 Pt 5:4; Acts 7:55-56); crown of life (Rev 2:10; James 1:12). Meditate upon these heavenly crowns and ask yourself two questions: (1) what does each crown signify? (2) will you be worthy to receive each of the crowns?

Does a SAVED SOUL bring JOY to your heart?
Have you ever noticed the connection between the “joy in heaven” over someone who is saved and the “crown of joy” we will wear in heaven (Luke 15:7, 10, 32; 1 Th 2:19-20)? How much joy does it bring your heart when you find out someone becomes a Christian? Decide that you will share the gospel with someone this week.
