MAKE DISCIPLES: How to Make Disciples?

MATTHEW 28 (NIV)
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

the Great Commission

  • 3 ACTIONS
  • 2 COMMANDS
  • 1 FORMATIONAL TRUTH

“DISCIPLESHIP MISSION” CHURCH

  • The Great Commission calls the church of Christ to a missionary vision, and it also provides the paradigm for the ministry of the local church.

  • The Great Commission calls every believer (men, women, teenagers & children) to not only be a disciple of Christ, but in doing so, they are also purposed to be a disciple-maker!

GOING

ACTS 9 (NIV)
31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

BAPTIZING

ROMANS 6 (NIV)
4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.

TEACHING

JOHN 14 (NIV)
25 (Jesus said to his disciples,) “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
