Trace vs Trust Series Graphic.jpg

We are in a series called Trust vs Trace. In week one we discovered through Abraham that when God makes a promise you can take Him at His Word. Last week we talked about God’s great consistency. If we are going to be believers of Christ, we are going to have to do more than put “In God We Trust” on our money; it will need to be in our hearts as well.

Romans 11:33

Since no man knows the mind of God, as believers we have got to become accustom to trusting Him more than we will ever be able to trace His movements. Developing this trust is part of the long walk every Christian must take.

Hebrews 11:1

Trust: believing in someone’s character, strength, or truth.

Trust is not just something we believe – it’s based on evidence.

Faith can get you into situations that become building blocks for trust.

Faith is had, but trust is built!

Going through is necessary to build trust.

In God’s plan we are all role players, but He is the main character.

Take Ananias. Many Bible readers know this story, but the general church body would not recognize his name among disciples of Christ. At first glance, it appears he plays a minor role at best. Perhaps you think your role is small too, but trust me when I tell you that every role is important in God’s plan.

ACTS 9:10-11

ACTS 9:12-14

You can tell how much you trust God when you must face a great fear.

Don’t give more reverence to your fears than the God who concurs them.

God said use your faith to put him to the test, and He will build your trust in Him.

Trust is built on experiences

Proverbs 29:25

God built trust in Ananias just like He does with you and I – one step at a time.

Acts 9:17-20

If you Trust God, He will give you peace.

Isaiah 26:3

Perfect peace is a location that we move into when we trust in God.

Are you steadfast and intentional?

We all require help on this journey to become what God called us to be. Ask God to Help you in areas of your life that you need to improve your trust.

God is building trust in you step by step

Philippians 4:6-7

  • Prayers show reverence and glory for God

  • The peace of God is not like the peace of man

  • Walk in the promise of those who trust God and grow in God’s peace as well.

  • Anxiety grows in the absence of Trust.

  • We can also improve our trust in God if we start trusting Him for the little things in our life. We will quickly learn He can be trusted with so much more.

  • Get to know God better through His word. Apply His promises to your own life.

  • Listen to the testimonies of those who have trusted in Him. Each experience of others as well as your own will build trust that God will deliver when you need Him most.

  • Do you have times in your life where God delivered big that you could share with people around you? This is certain to build trust in the name of Jesus.

Psalm 37:4-5
