Giving Thanks In THE LAND BETWEEN
Welcome To The LAND BETWEEN!
Confusion & Disorientation + Waiting & Wondering
“How Did I End Up Here?” + “What’s Going On Here?”
THE LAND BETWEEN:
Fertile Soil to grow Seeds of CONTEMPT
Numbers 11:4-6
The rabble with them began to crave other food, and again the Israelites started wailing and said, “If only we had meat to eat! We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost–also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic. But now we have lost our appetite; we never see anything but this manna!”
THE LAND BETWEEN:
Fertile Soil fo an EMOTIONAL MELTDOWN
Numbers 11:10-15
10 Moses heard the people of every family wailing at the entrance to their tents. The LORD became exceedingly angry, and Moses was troubled… 15 If this is how you are going to treat me, please go ahead and kill me—if I have found favor in your eyes—and do not let me face my own ruin.”
THE LAND BETWEEN:
Fertile Soil to see God’s arm of PROVISION
In the Land Between, don’t miss the Miracle!
Numbers 11:16-17
16 The LORD said to Moses: Bring me seventy of Israel’s elders who are known to you as leaders and officials among the people. Have them come to the tent of meeting, that they may stand there with you.
17 I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take some of the power of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them. They will share the burden of the people with you so that you will not have to carry it alone.
THE LAND BETWEEN:
Fertile soil to feel God’s hand of DISCIPLINE
Numbers 11:18-20
“The LORD heard you when you wailed, “If only we had meat to eat! We were better off in Egypt!” Now the LORD will give you meat, and you will eat it. You will not eat it for just one day, or two days, or five, ten or twenty days, but for a whole month–until it comes out of your nostrils and you loathe it–because you have rejected the LORD”
THE LAND BETWEEN:
Fertile soil for transformational GROWTH
Growing Gratitude In The Land Between
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Open my MIND to new possibilities.
being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 1:6
Guard my HEART against bitterness.
54 When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, “Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them[a]?” 55 But Jesus turned and rebuked them.
Luke 9:54-55
Set my FEET on the right path.
19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!” 20 Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is going to betray you?”) 21 When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” 22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.”
John 21:19-22
Fix my EYES on Jesus.
12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2
