Believe in the Battle

Battles are inevitable.

John 16:33
These things I have spoken to you, that (A)in Me you may have peace. (B)In the world you
[a]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, (C)I have overcome the world.”

So if it’s

that we will have troubles and battles in life, why do we let them tear us up
so bad? Set us back? Why do we run from them? Why do we play on the “safe side” of them?

Definition of Battle
Battle - A fight or struggle

to achieve or resist something

TENACIOUSLY means in an unwavering way

We know there are

Battles and Battles

Physical Battles
examples would be: things like war, being handicapped or injured, or even trying to achieve weight
loss.

NOT ALWAYS

Spiritual Battles

Spiritual battles ARE ALWAYS GOING ON

“Our Spiritual Battle is “our unwavering fight to preserve righteousness and resist the enemy!”

Spiritual battles are

.

Battles can cause you to question Gods goodness. Through not getting the results you desire,
it can being to weigh on your confidence and cause you to start losing hope in Victory. Which
in turn causes you to start to think and speak negatively because you view yourself as a victim
now. (Poor pitiful me….blah blah blah).

BUT BELOVED WE ARE NOT VICTIMS< WE ARE VICTORS!!!

1 John 5:4-5
For (A) whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that (B) has
overcome the world—[a]our faith. (5) Who is he who overcomes the world, but (C) he who
believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

**So our VICTORY comes because of our

in Jesus and the belief that he is who he says

“BELIEF DETERMINES

Mediocre Mindset vs Marine Mindset
Marine Mindset - Is the character and resiliency component of the Marine Corps Spiritual Fitness
Program.
1. MEDIOCRE MINDSET: “Because I grew-up in a difficult environment – I’m DISADVANTAGED
and my past makes me BITTER.”
MARINE MINDSET: “Because I grew-up in a difficult environment – I’m ADVANTAGED and my
past makes me BETTER because of it.”

  1. MEDIOCRE MINDSET: “I AM a victim.”?
    MARINE MINDSET: “I WAS victimized.”

  2. Mediocre mindset: fear-fearing and avoids fearful situations and avoid discomfort
Marine Mindset: Fear-facing and knows that facing fear is the best way to build courage.

  3. MEDIOCRE MINDSET: Puts TRUST in one’s emotion and believes that FEELINGS are
    ALWAYS FACTS.
MARINE MINDSET is SKEPTICAL of emotion and considers that “FEELINGS are SOMETIMES
    TRAPS.”

  4. MEDIOCRE MINDSET: Is ignorant of the effect one’s own internal messages have on their
    performance and wellbeing.
MARINE MINDSET: Understands the effect one’s own internal messages have on their
    performance and wellbeing.

ASKING BRADLEY ABOUT THE MARINE MINDSET AND IF THERE IS ANYTHING IN PARTICULARLY
Study about believing you’ll die if shot

Proverbs 23:7
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

You See, the biggest reason that battles take so much from us spiritually and emotionally is
because of PERSPECTIVE AND BELIEF.
And usually you can tell what your perspective is and what your beliefs are just by how you talk to
others about your battle and how you talk to others about your battle. A lot of what we say stems
from what we believe.
Luke 6:45
(A)A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out
of the evil [a]treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out (B)of the abundance of the heart his
mouth speaks.

What you

in your heart is reflected in your words.

When you are in a battle, you have to choose like the marines do. Are you going to have a
mediocre mindset or a marine mindset? A victim mindset or a warrior mindset?

A victim mindset says “this battle will destroy me.” A Warrior mindset says “this battle will
deploy me!”
BUT IT ALL STARTS WITH HOW WE TALK ABOUT THE BATTLE
if we believe Jesus is who he says he is than we have to lean on his word and his promises.
WE HAVE TO START REALIZING THE POWER OF WORDS!
Gods Words create! We see that in Genesis. And if Gods words create and You and I are
made in His LIKENESS, don’t our words have some ability to create or even destruct?
Matthew 15:11
(A)Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this
defiles a man.”
Defile- To violate the sanctity of.
Sanctity - Holiness

So when we speak negatively in a battle, we are dealing with unbelief in our hearts because
remember, “out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks!”

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that
He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
What pleases God most is our Faith in Him! Not doing enough works to right our wrongs so that
then God will bless us. Or then God will take this battle from me! No! He just wants your heart and
your belief!

Luke 23:39-43
39 (A)Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, [a]“If You are the
Christ, save Yourself and us.”
(40) But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are
under the same condemnation? (41) And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our
deeds; but this Man has done (B)nothing wrong.” (42) Then he said [b]to Jesus, “Lord,
remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
(43) And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in (C)Paradise.”
