We’ve been discussing how to break destructive cycles of behavior. These cycles create strongholds that keep us from evolving into what God spoke over us when He called us into creation at the beginning of time. We aim to be available for His use. That allows us to be divinely prepared and positioned for His purpose in this life.
Releasing the (P.U.F.F.) Power, Understanding, Fellowship and Favor of the Lord into our lives!

Last week was “Hater Sunday”. You may think, What does that have to do with preparation and positioning of God’s people for purpose?

Proverbs 16:4 The LORD has made everything for His purpose–even the wicked for the day of disaster.

Haters have a role to play as well. They certainly keep you praying and constantly going before the Lord.

Last week, we spoke about Goliath and how he was positioned for a demonstration of God’s power for the enemies of Israel, the Israelites themselves, and God’s servant David.

David was no stranger to people doubting him or hating on Him.
Goliath was not David’s first hater; his father was!

In 1 Samuel 16:1 when God sent the prophet Samuel to Jesse’s house to select and anoint the next King of Israel from among Jesse’s sons, Jesse did not even include David as an option to get selected.

Jesse called only seven of his sons in to be considered by the prophet Samuel omitting his youngest son David. Many will argue that someone had to watch the sheep, but most agree that exclusion was Jesse’s true intent.

Sometimes the people who are closest to you, or have authority over you, will miss what God has planted in you. Don’t lose hope. God will always send someone to speak LIFE into what He has placed in you.

1 Samuel 16:11-12

God will not use an imitation for your destination and purpose. He placed His gifting in you for a reason and a specific season. Don’t give up before your season!

The enemy can’t undue what God has already done! He doesn’t have the understanding, power, or authority!

Ecclesiastes 7:13

Ecclesiastes 3:11

It’s already been done, and no one can comprehend it or change it!

Ultimately, it’s not what others say about you that determines your success in this life. It is what God already said about you at the beginning of all creation when He spoke you into existence.

The enemy will try to position you for pitfalls, but God will protect His plan in you and position you for PURPOSE.

Some of us are intimidated and petrified by the visions of service God has shown us.
Think about it: since these things are already done, you are terrified to be what God already made you. Sounds a little silly when we think of it that way.

What God shows us is just the tip of the iceberg. Your charge and destiny for God is even greater than what you’ve seen. God never shows us the entire picture, He knows we can’t handle it. God is showing you the appetizer, not the main course.

One day, David’s father sent him to deliver lunch to his brothers (firstborn was Eliab; the second, Abinadab; and the third, Shammah.) who were fighting in Saul’s army against the Philistines. He sent Him for lunch, not to rescue the entire army of Israel from a Giant.

How often do we leave our house thinking we are just bringing lunch, not knowing the battels that lie ahead of us in today’s life? If God showed you the battels, we’d be afraid of leaving our bed. Instead God has promised that we would be the victorious no matter what we face!

This is why Jesus says, (Luke 10:3) I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.
Each day is filled with attacks that we are unaware of, but God is our good shepherd positioning us for His purpose.

You are more prepared than you know. God’s training is not always obvious.

1 Samuel 17:33

Saul was talking about the natural. In the natural we must all agree David should have lost this fight. But God’s preparation is in the spirit! If you look at the natural, you will miss where God has already prepared you!

1 Samuel 17:34-37

David reviewed his rescues! He was rescued not by his own power, but by the power of the Lord and he knew it. God was not building David’s confidence in himself, He was building faith in God.

If God has ever rescued you it’s hard to believe he won’t do it again and again.

God had David prepared and positioned for His purpose!

What victories are waiting on your obedience?

What potential praises for God are being withheld because you’re too afraid to move on what God called you to be?

You don’t know it, but you are God’s perfect solution to problems you don’t even know exist.

Like David, your move may release blessings for an army of believers!
Our obedience may release armies into their calling for Christ!
It’s all been prepared and positioned for His purpose and your fulfillment.

Remember, God is the power that brings victory, not you! God is looking for you to be you, not someone else or Him. He already knew your shortcomings and He called you anyway.

1 Samuel 17 38-40

Stop comparing yourself to others. God sent you! What works for them won’t work for you. Each of us has a gifting articulated for our unique purpose.
When God sends you, He will use the gifting He put in you – not the gifting of others.

David used what we already had to fight a battle he didn’t even know was coming. You plus God is enough! Trust in God is our biggest weapon!

1 Samuel 17:8-9

Don’t make deals with the enemy!
1. If the enemy offers a deal, he always has the advantage or upper hand
2. Please believe, no matter how good it may seem, the Devil will never deliver on what he promises.
3. He can only lie

John 8:44

1 Samuel 17:48-49

David had five stones, (that’s the number of Grace) but how many stones did he throw? You will always think you don’t have enough but know that God has already supplied you with more than you need for the task. David still had leftovers!

Remember it’s never the amount that you have, it’s the God that you serve!

1 Samuel 17:51

As believers we need to stop being surprised or hurt that people who don’t serve the Lord around us lie to us and on us. We ought to find comfort in knowing that God’s WORD on our life will withstand them and every attack in our lifetime!
