“That’s a lie!” A remarkable but true story
THE FAITH OF ABRAHAM AND SARAH
A promise to a childless couple (Genesis 15:4-6)
In the midst of doubt, the promise is reaffirmed (Genesis 16:2; 17:19-21; 18:9-15)
The promise is kept and Isaac is born (Genesis 21:1-7)
WE NEED TO BE WILLING TO TRUST GOD’S PROMISES
Unlike us, God always keeps His promises
God has given us “great and precious promises” (2 Peter 1:4a; John 11:25; Hebrews 13:5a)
We need to know, believe, and apply God’s promises
THE LORD KEEPS HIS PROMISES EVEN WHEN OUR FAITH IS NOT PERFECT
The imperfect faith of Sarah (Genesis 21:6)
What matters is not the quality or quantity of our faith, but the object of our faith
We need to step out in faith and act
IN THIS LIFE WE RECEIVE ONLY PART OF WHAT GOD HAS PROMISED TO US
Abraham saw only three descendants
The Holy Spirit guarantees that God will keep His promises to us
May the Lord help us to trust Him and His promises
