Shame was not from God. Shame was discovered by decision.
We feel guilty for what we did. We feel ashamed for who we are.

We are vulnerable to perfectionism.
We are critical of ourselves, which drives us to become critical of others.
We use self-defeating thoughts to shield ourselves from disappointment.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.” —Hebrews 12:1-2
Lean into healthy community.
“…surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith…”
Get shame off of you.
“…let us strip off every weight that slows us down…”
Jesus endured the shame that we couldn’t so that we could be set free.
To deal with shame, we have deal with our sin.
“Then the LORD said to Joshua, ‘Today I have rolled away the shame of your slavery in Egypt.’” —Joshua 5:9
