Proverbs 17:26-18:8, Acts 16-21, Psalm 143-149, 2 Kings 8-19

Acts 16:1-3 Paul went first to Derbe and then to Lystra, where there was a young disciple named Timothy. His mother was a Jewish believer, but his father was a Greek. Timothy was well thought of by the believers in Lystra and Iconium, so Paul wanted him to join them on their journey. In deference to the Jews of the area, he arranged for Timothy to be circumcised before they left, for everyone knew that his father was a Greek.

Acts 16:4-5 Then they went from town to town, instructing the believers to follow the decisions made by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem. So the churches were strengthened in their faith and grew larger every day.

Exodus 20:10 ..“This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you.”

Mark 2:27 Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath.

  • Sabbath – An intentional 24-hour period in which I stop my “normal” activities and the life Jesus has given me.

2 Kings 19:6-7 …This is what the Lord says: “Do not be disturbed by this blasphemous speech against Me from the Assyrian king’s messengers. Listen! I Myself will move against him”…

2 Kings 19:29 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Here is the proof that what I say is true: This year you will eat only what grows up by itself, and next year you will eat what springs up from that.”

Leviticus 25:2&6 …When you have entered the land I am giving you, the land itself must observe a Sabbath rest before the Lord every seventh year. But you may eat whatever the land produces on its own during its Sabbath.

2 Kings 19:30…And you who are left in Judah, who have escaped the ravages of the siege, will put roots down in your own soil and will grow up and flourish.
