The Cross
1 Corinthians 1:17–19 (NLT)
The cross of Christ divides the human race into two distinct classes, the saved and unsaved.

  1. The Cross is foolishness to the unsaved.
*For as long as human beings have inhabited the planet Earth, we have been searching for answers to the same three big questions: (1) Where did we come from? (2) Is there life after death? (3) What is the meaning of life?
*With all its “wisdom,” the world has not been able to

    God or salvation.
*The cross is foolishness to the .
*The cross is powerless to the .
*The cross to the world displays a weak and dead .
*God will the wisdom of the wise. Isaiah 29:14

  2. The Cross is the power of God to the saved.
    *Power to

    all sin. (Sin committed)
*Power to from all sin. (Sin nature)
*Power to make possible man’s deliverance from sin’s hold.
*Christ will only save us sin, never sin.
    *Power to death.
    *Power to give life.
    *1 Corinthians 1:29–31 (NLT)
*The weakness of God displayed in His supposedly defeated and destroyed Son on the cross proved, through His resurrection, to be a far greater demonstration of power than man has ever known.
