Introduction:
God is moving all over New England, and we get to be a part of this movement. In this unique collection of talks, we will have the opportunity to hear stories of how God is using ordinary people in an extraordinary way to bring the Gospel to our region and how City United Church is a part of helping them through prayer and support as they lead.
Our vision is to see New England transformed by making disciples and planting churches to multiply the kingdom of God.
“Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith.” —Galatians 6:9-10
During this collection, pray for God to reveal how you can be a part of these God stories in New England. This collection of talks will include:
July 7th/10th God Stories in the Workplace – Ralph Batykefer
July 14th/17th God Stories in Cape Cod – Pastor Ethan Wormell
(Forestdale Church)
July 21st/24th God Stories in New England – Hal Haller (BCNE)
July 28th/31st God Stories in Worcester – Pastor Kevin McGinn
(City Light Church/Vessel Skatepark)
Pastor Ethan Wormell was born and raised in Leominster and established a firm biblical foundation at an early age as he attended Twin City Baptist Church, now City United Church, and while attending and graduating from Twin City Christian School. Ethan went on to join the U.S. Marine Corps in 2011 after graduating from high school and attained the rank of sergeant. Ethan and his wife Catherine moved to Carlsbad, CA in 2016 where Ethan served as a youth pastor until 2020. While in California, he studied at Westminster Seminary where he earned a Masters of Divinity. Ethan and Catherine became parents in 2021 when their son Henry was born. Soon after, Ethan accepted the lead pastor position at Forestdale Church in Sandwich, MA on Cape Cod, which has been in existence for 170 years. He considers it a great joy and honor to become part of this faith community. Please pray for Ethan and the leadership team at Forestdale Church as they lead their church out of the COVID era and into a new season of ministry.
