I. We are

for a purpose.

Then the Lord God took some soil from the ground and formed a man out of it; he breathed life-giving breath into his nostrils and the man began to live. —Genesis 2:7 (Good News Translation)

So God created man in his own image … and God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruit and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it.” —Genesis 1:27-28

I am declaring war between you and the woman, between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head and you will strike his heel. —Genesis 3:15 (The Message)

II. We are

for a purpose.

“RE” – meaning: “back” or “back to the original place”
REdeem
REstore
REclaim
REnew
REconcile

“[God] hangs on to his fallen original creation and salvages it. He refuses to abandon the work of his hands — in fact he sacrifices his own Son to save his original project. Humankind, which has botched its original mandate and the whole creation along with it, is given another chance in Christ; we are reinstated as God’s managers on earth. The original good creation is to be restored.” – Albert Wolters

III. Simply this … now

.

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go … —Matthew 28:18-19

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. —John 10:10 (The Amplified Version)

“… the restoring life of God is breathed out through Jesus again, making new people out of the disciples, and, through them, offering this new life to the world.” – N.T. Wright

“Jesus showed us how to truly rule as humans by serving others. And he saved us to create a new humanity so we can once again claim our authority and rule as God intended.” – The Bible Project
