5 Biblical Commitments to Preserve Our Unity:

  1. Let’s commit to

, even if it means that we are wrong. (Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  2. Let’s commit to keeping the main thing the

    and to our disagreements. (1 Timothy 1:3-4; 2 Timothy 2:14, 23)

  3. Let’s commit to

without sin. (Ephesians 4:25-27; Luke 19:41-46)

  4. Let’s commit to

    before we respond. (James 1:19)

  5. Let’s commit to putting

over every other identity. (Galatians 3:28)

GOD IS JUST AS CONCERNED ABOUT UNITY AS HE IS ABOUT TRUTH.

WARM UP: How do you think social media plays into the divisiveness in our culture? [As Christians, we are called to be different than our culture, and on Sunday we looked at 5 Biblical commitments to preserve our unity.]

HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
    1. Review the 5 Biblical commitments to preserve unity.

2.Which is more important to God: truth or unity? [Trick Question… the answer is both!]

    2. Pastor Peter said: “You can’t have unity without truth, but if you have truth without unity, then what’s the point?” Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not?

3.Read Ephesians 4:25-27 and Luke 19:41-46. How is it possible to be angry without sin?

HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
    1. Take a moment and reflect on these 5 Biblical commitments to preserve unity. Which one of these do you think is the hardest for you?

2.Have you ever been misunderstood or misrepresented by someone? What did that feel like?

HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
    1. In light of this message, is there something that God is calling you to repent of or is there someone that God is calling you to apologize to?

2.Pray that our church would grow in truth and unity during this series.
