Welcome

Thank you for joining us!

We have a great service planned, so let’s worship together!

The Lion and the Lamb

Artist: Leeland

He’s coming on the clouds
Kings and kingdoms will bow down

And every chain will break
As broken hearts declare His praise
For who can stop the Lord Almighty

Our God is the lion
The Lion of Judah
He’s roaring with power
And fighting our battles
And every knee will bow before Him

Our God is the lamb
The lamb that was slain
For the sins of the world
His blood breaks the chains
And every knee will bow before the lion and the lamb
Every knee will bow before Him

So, open up the gates
Make way before the King of Kings

The God who comes to save
Is here to set the captives free
For who can stop the Lord Almighty

Our God is the lion
The Lion of Judah
He’s roaring with power
And fighting our battles
And every knee will bow before Him

Our God is the lamb
The lamb that was slain
For the sin of the world
His blood breaks the chains
And every knee will bow before the lion and the lamb
Every knee will bow before Him

Who can stop the Lord Almighty
Who can stop the Lord…

Our God is the lion
The Lion of Judah
He’s roaring with power
And fighting our battles
And every knee will bow before Him

Our God is the lamb
The lamb that was slain
For the sins of the world
His blood breaks the chains
And every knee will bow before the lion and the lamb
Every knee will bow before Him

It Is Well With My Soul

Artist: Matt Redman

Our scars are a sign
Of grace in our lives
And Father, how You brought us through
When deep were the wounds
And dark was the night
The promise of Your love, You proved
Now every battle still to come
Let this be our song

It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul

Weeping may come, remain for a night
But joy will paint the morning sky
You’re there in the fast
You’re there in the feast
Your faithfulness will always shine
Now every blessing still to come
Let this be our song

It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul

You lead us through battles (You lead us through battles)
You lead us to blessing (You lead us to blessing)
And You make us fruitful (You make us fruitful)
In the land of our suffering, God
And it is well, it is well with my soul

It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul
I trust Your ways (I trust Your ways)
I trust Your name (I trust Your name)
And it is well, it is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul, my soul

In Christ Alone

Artists: Keith & Kristyn Getty

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here, in the love of Christ, I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save
‘Til on that cross, as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin, on him, was laid
Here, in the death of Christ, I live

There in the ground, his body lay
Light of the world, by darkness, slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave, he rose again
And as he stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am his and he is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from his hand
‘Til he returns or calls me home
Here, in the power of Christ, I stand

Holy Spirit

Artist: Jesus Culture

There’s nothing worth more
That will ever come close
Nothing can compare
You’re our living Hope

Your presence, Lord

I’ve tasted and seen
Of the sweetest of love
When my heart becomes free
And my shame is undone

Your presence, Lord

Holy Spirit You are welcome here
Come flood this place
And fill the atmosphere
Your glory God
Is what our hearts long for
To be overcome
By Your presence, Lord

There’s nothing worth more
That will ever come close
Nothing can compare
You’re our living Hope

Your presence, Lord

I’ve tasted and seen
Of the sweetest of love
When my heart becomes free
And my shame is undone

Your presence, Lord

To be overcome
By Your presence, Lord

Holy Spirit You are welcome here
Come flood this place
And fill the atmosphere
Your glory God
Is what our hearts long for
To be overcome
By Your presence, Lord

Let us become more aware
Of Your presence
Let us experience the glory
Of Your goodness

Let us become more aware
Of Your presence
Let us experience the glory
Of Your goodness

Let us become more aware
Of Your presence
Let us experience the glory

Scripture Focus & Notes

Matthew 7:1-6 (HCSB)

Do not judge, so that you won’t be judged. For with the judgment you use, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye but don’t notice the log in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and look, there’s a log in your eye? Hypocrite! First take the log out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. Don’t give what is holy to dogs or toss your pearls before pigs, or they will trample them with their feet, turn, and tear you to pieces.

Wait…What…I’ve Got to Stop Judging People?

Carefully Assess Others (1-2)
• Avoid saying that which is untrue (Exodus 23:1), unnecessary (Proverbs 11:13), and unkind (Proverbs 18:8).
• The only person ever qualified to judge chose to extend grace.
• What’s your metric for evaluating people? Let it be grace.

Carefully Be Aware of Yourself (3-5a)
•We tend to elevate our evaluation of ourselves at the expense of others. We are poor In-SPECK-tors!
• The sin we see clearly in others is often similar to one that exists within us.
• To avoid hypocrisy, considering our own sin should be a good starting place.

Carefully Alleviate Problems (5b-7)
• If we can assess with awareness, we can alleviate problems.
• It is unwise to be overly vulnerable to someone you don’t fully trust.
• Effective witnessing occurs in appropriate settings.

Communion

Do this in remembrance of our Lord.

Christ Be Magnified

Artist: Cody Carnes

Were creation suddenly articulate
With a thousand tongues to lift one cry
Then from north to south and east to west
We’d hear ‘Christ be magnified!’

Were the whole earth echoing His eminence
His name would burst from sea and sky
From rivers to the mountain tops
We’d hear ‘Christ be magnified!’

O! Christ be magnified!
Let His praise arise
Christ be magnified in me
O! Christ be magnified!
From the altar of my life
Christ be magnified in me

When every creature finds its inmost melody
And every human heart its native cry
O then in one enraptured hymn of praise
We’ll sing ‘Christ be magnified!’
O be lifted high, Jesus

O! Christ be magnified!
Let His praise arise
Christ be magnified in me
O! Christ be magnified!
From the altar of my life
Christ be magnified in me

I won’t bow to idols, I’ll stand strong and worship You
And if it puts me in the fire, I’ll rejoice ‘cause You’re there too
I won’t be formed by feelings, I hold fast to what is true
If the cross brings transformation then I’ll be crucified with You
‘Cause death is just the doorway into resurrection life
And if I join You in Your suffering then I’ll join You when You rise
And when You return in glory with all the angels and the saints
My heart will still be singing and my song will be the same

O! Christ be magnified!
Let His praise arise
Christ be magnified in me
O! Christ be magnified!
From the altar of my life
Christ be magnified in me
O! Christ be magnified!
Let His praise arise
Christ be magnified in me
O! Christ be magnified!
From the altar of my life
Christ be magnified in me
