Ice Breaker
SHARE: What are ways your community has changed from when you were young? What do you love…what do you miss…what has been challenging?
(Examples: Businesses moved in or out like Chick Fil, Sonics/Kraken, Amazon…)
DISCUSS: Everyone: What brought you to the place you currently live and why did you “choose” this place? If you’re from somewhere else originally, what do you notice is different about your place of origin compared to here?

Transition From The Video
REFLECT: There are two things from the After-Party Video we are challenged to discuss: First, a Life Group check-in, and second, a discussion of the welfare of our local community.
1) LIFE GROUP CHECK-IN: What tweaks or adjustments might be helpful for us to consider as we move forward into November and beyond? (One idea was to take weekly turns sharing more in depth each of our life stories for 10 minutes.)
2) CITY-WELFARE CHECK-IN: A central part of Scotty’s message and also a thought Pastor Stan left us with was to “Seek the welfare of the city that you are in…” What ways could we help the welfare of our community in the weeks or months ahead? Is there a specific part of our community that your heart gravitates towards?
Diving into the Bible:
TRANSITION & READ: Let’s reread and discuss God’s message through the prophet Jeremiah to his people in exile in Babylon:
Jeremiah 29:4-7
DISCUSS: What sticks out to you in God’s words to His people who were not in Kansas anymore? Is this the advice you expected from God in light of these circumstances?
SHARE: Scotty mentioned that sometimes, “we underestimate the quality of God’s way of life.” What are some examples of how you have seen God through Jesus-followers in your community or background?
READ & REFLECT: A few verses later, we read a powerful encouragement to God’s people, that connects with us today in our own “Babylon”
Jeremiah 29:11
APPLY & PRAY:
SHARE: What ways could we pray and hope for our city to be successful?
PRAY: Pray for God to bless our community through each of us this week
