Give what you have…

Acts 3:1-2 Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service. As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. (NLT)

His physical infirmity mirrors the

condition of our lives—helpless and without God’s intervention.

Acts 3:3-6a When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. (NLT)

I’ll

you what I have…

The only thing that we have to offer that no one else can offer is the

of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit.

The church is not a museum, it’s a

station

Matthew 10:42 “And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.” (NLT)

Acts 3:6b-7 ”…In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. (NLT)

WALK!

The promise and reality of divine healing does not rule out

for the sake of Christ and that of the gospel.

Isaiah 53:3-5 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. (NIV)

Acts 3:8-11 He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God. When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded! They all rushed out in amazement to Solomon’s Colonnade, where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John. (NLT)

His physical healing became a

to the miraculous power of Jesus, prompting curiosity and wonder among the onlookers.

The result of

caused people to encounter the
One who could change their lives.
