Next Steps

I will connect this week with others to discuss the Digging Deeper resource.

Digging Deeper…

While anyone can take time to answer these questions individually, these questions are best discussed in a group, or with another person! Not in a group yet? Please reach out to us via email:

DISCUSS

Take a few minutes to discuss the sermon you heard on Acts 1:8, Luke 24:49, 1 Corinthians 12:3, by answering these questions:

  • If you had to explain the main point of the sermon to someone who was not there, what would you say?

  • Which points from the sermon connected with you the most? Why?

PRAY

Take a moment to pray out loud as a group. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead the discussion and teach you, both individually and collectively from the passage you are about to read.

READ

Read Acts 1:8, Luke 24:49, 1 Corinthians 12:3

ASK

Answer these questions as a group:

  • What did you like about this passage?
  • What did you find challenging or hard to understand?
  • What did Luke tell us in Luke 24:49 about the Holy Spirit’ coming?
  • Read Romans 8:26 – What does Paul tells us about the Holy Spirit? How are some ways you have found this promise to be true in your life?
  • How does the Holy Spirit help us know God’s Will? Read Jesus’ promise in John 14:26.
  • Pastor Mark talked about keeping in step with the Holy Spirit, what are some ways that we can do that in our daily walk?
  • Where might the Holy Spirit be calling you into deeper intimacy with Him?

APPLY

Take a few minutes to write down two or three steps to take this week to put this text into action. Share your steps with your group.

  • Where most do you desire the Holy Spirit’s work in your life?

  • Where is the Holy Spirit stripping you away right now? What are you still fighting Him? What is it going to take to surrender?

  • Do you dare pray the prayer: “Lord fill me with Your Spirit, and teach me to experience Your power?”
