SMALL GROUP GUIDE

Welcome
Weekly Vision Casting  The Bible teaches that we were designed for relationship with one another. Small group is a great launching point for deeper relationships but it shouldn’t end there. You never need the leader’s permission to hangout and share life with other members of the group.

SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

WARM UP: When did you experience the most transition in your life? What did you have to stop doing, what did you have to start doing? [Today’s passage shows us what our new life in Christ looks like, what we need to leave behind and what we need to begin doing]

HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
1. Read Colossians 3:1-17. What behaviors are we called to put off? Put on?
2. What do you observe about the behaviors that Paul names here? Where do you see similarities or contrasts?
3. How do the first few verses describe your position in Christ?

HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
4. When you see a list like the one in this passage, how do you react? Do you tend to see it as restrictive or liberating? Why?
5. What needs to shift in your perspective to begin seeing these verses as a liberating invitation to fully embrace your new position in Christ rather than a restrictive burden on your freedom?

HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
6. (Consider splitting in to gender-specific groups) Is there a particular behavior that the Holy Spirit is convicting you to put off or to put on?
