13 And behold, the LORD stood above it and said: “I am the LORD God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. 14 Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall

to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your all the families of the earth shall be blessed. —Genesis 28:13-15

  • Spread abroad - to break through, to break out, to burst through limitations, to spread out, to grow, to , to expand, to open up new territory, to send abroad.

5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain [abide]. —John 15:5, 8, 16

  • Fruit: Fruit of

, and the fruit of souls (people impacted). Two types: inner, outer.

  • One plants, another waters, and God gives the

    . 1 Cor 3:6-7.

  • We have the responsibility to plant and to water.

23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” —Matthew 13:23 (Parable of the Sower)

Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion.” —Genesis 1:28 -

1 There was a famine in the land,
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. 13 The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous;
22 And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, “For now the Lord has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.” —Isaac - Gen 26:12-13

  1. Fruitfulness is contingent upon

    .

    • We must plant to have a harvest! It’s the law of sowing and reaping.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. —Matthew 6:33

  • Don’t wait for the

conditions, but sow the right seed. The word will not return void!

  • Your seed is the

of the word of God working in your life!

a. Your story is not over. It’s still being

!

b. Your story is

. It’s the authentic non-fiction account of what God has done in you.

c. Your story is meant to be

. Your testimony can change lives.

  1. Fruitfulness is contingent upon .

a. Abide, remain, stay. Speaks of faithfulness. Don’t go back and forth between the Lord and world. Don’t be inconsistent. If you constantly uproot and transplant a plant or a tree of a vine, it will survive, but it won’t be fruitful.

  • Fruitfulness comes out of an authentic connection with and faithfulness to Christ.

  • In the book of Ruth, Elimelech and his family let

push them out of the land.

  • Boaz never left. He sowed in the land. He stayed in the land. He was thriving, and his harvest was

    .

Now behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, “The LORD be with you!” And they answered him, “The LORD bless you!” —Ruth 2:4

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. —Galatians 6:9
