A rebellion of the .

Religious, but… Self-seeking

You say, ‘What a burden!’ …And you bring stolen, lame, or sick animals. You bring this as an offering! Am I to accept that from your hands? I am a great King,” says the Lord of Armies, “and my name will be feared among the nations. —Malachi 1:13

Religious, but… Self-centered

And this second thing you do. You cover the LORD’s altar with tears, with weeping and groaning because he no longer regards your offering… And you say, “Why does he not?” Because the LORD was witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant. Did he not make them one, with a portion of the Spirit in their union? And what was the one God seeking? Godly offspring.” ‘The man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the LORD, the God of Israel, covers his garment with injustice.’ —Malachi 2:13-16 CSB

Religious, but… Unbelieving

You have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet you ask, “How have we wearied him?” When you say, ‘Where is the God of justice? —Malachi 2:17

You have spoken arrogantly against me,” says the Lord… You have said, ‘It is futile to serve God. The arrogant are blessed, and evildoers prosper. —Malachi 3:13-15

Religious, but… Untrusting

“Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions. Therefore you are cursed with a curse. Bring the full tenth (first 10% of what you get) into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” —Malachi 3:8-10

A repeated .

“Since the days of your fathers, you have turned from my statutes; you have not kept them.” —Malachi 3:7

A from God.

Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble…” says the Lord Almighty. But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.” —Malachi 4:1
