But just as a windmill without wind serves no purpose, the same is true for a church that isn’t empowered by God’s Spirit. A church that isn’t propelled by the Holy Spirit is nothing more than a nice social club, nothing more than a mere decoration on the landscape of our culture. And that’s not what Jesus intended His church to be.

(Acts 28:31 | NIV84) “Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.”

“We are the empowered people of God.”

“All Hands On Deck!”

(Acts 4:32-35 | NIV84) “All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.”

(Acts 5:42 | NIV84) “day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.”

(Acts 6:1-4, 7 | NIV84) 1 Now in these days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Grecian Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. 2 So the twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. 3 Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them 4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word. 7 So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the fatih.

(Acts 6:3b-4 | NIV84) We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.

(Acts 6:7 | NIV84) And the word of God continued to increase, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.

Everyone of us has a part to play.
