Kingdom Kindness

“Through the Eyes of the Good Samaritan”

Luke 10:25-37 The Parable of the Good Samaritan

2 Timothy 2:19 “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”

Proverbs 11:11 “Those who are kind benefit themselves, but the cruel bring ruin on themselves.”

3 Attitudes in the Parable of the Good Samaritan

1.The Priest “Avoidance” – If I don’t pay attention, it’s not my responsibility to do anything about it.

a. Who is your ‘Miss Betty’?

2.The Levite “Apathy” – I can be curious, but uncaring. I can’t be inconvenienced by someone else’s need.

a. 2 Timothy 2:19

3.The Samaritan “Empathy” – I’m willing to show kindness when I see someone in need.
a. Proverbs 11:17

TAKE AWAYS:
1.You can’t care if you are unaware.
2.Being religious doesn’t make you kind.
3.Interruption is the catalyst for kindness.
