Everyday Jesus: Everyday Jesus is a great way to deepen your Bible reading, prayer life & personal time with Christ.
• Monday: Read Jer 33, part of the continuing conversation between God & Jeremiah while he’s held captive by the King of Israel. The consistent message is even while in punishment, there remains reason for hope. The Hope God promised would not come from written law but through the Righteous Branch. Our world promises many concepts of hope and restoration but none of them are righteous. Today, thank God that Christ, your savior, is Righteous.
• Tuesday: Read Jeremiah 33:14-26 The Righteous Branch will execute justice and righteousness in the land. Think on those 2 truths: justice & righteousness. Life doesn’t always make sense, ask the Lord to continually give you strength to be at peace with His justice & righteousness, now at work on your behalf.
• Wednesday: {Day of Fasting} Read Jeremiah 33:14-16, Rom 1:17, 3:21-22, 10:3; 2 Cor 5:21; 2 Pet 1:1, We don’t always feel righteous. Beyond our feelings, we are righteous in God’s sight based on our faith. Meditate on these passages & ask the Lord to deepen your perspective of who you are in Christ (beyond feelings).
• Thursday: Read Jeremiah 33:14-26, 2 Cor 5:21, Christ’s death on the cross was how righteousness was granted to you. The birth of Christ, the Righteous Branch is connected to the completed work of Christ on the cross. In 2 Cor 5:21! Christ was sinless, but embodied sin, so we could become God’s righteousness! Ask the Lord what it means that you’ve become the righteousness of God - how does this impact how we respond to life?
• Friday: Read Jeremiah 33:14-26, 1 Cor 1:30 In Jeremiah 33 it was promised that a Righteous Branch would be raised. The promise of Christ’s entrance into the world is that God transferred His attributes to those that believe! Specifically, wisdom, righteousness, sanctification & redemption were given to us through Christ. These are truths of every believer yet only through an ever deepening faith relationship with Christ do we understand how these truths are at work in our lives. Make a fresh commitment of surrender to Christ, as you ask Him to make Himself
