Acts 4:12
Philippians 2:10-11
Last week we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ
Now what do we do?
I suppose, now more than ever, we all can agree that there are times in life that things don’t turn out as we have planned - like a pandemic, a quarantine and sheltering in place!
The disciples were minding their own business when their lives were interrupted by what seemed to be a chance meeting with a man named Jesus.
Pardon The Interruption
Interruption: Disturbance Or Disruption
What now?
Something Unexpected Happens Again! He Gets Arrested.
While In Hiding, They Got Word That Jesus Had Risen!
Could This Really Be True?
He’s Leaving?
One More Thing…
Matthew 28:16-20
Acts 1:9
Their faith keeps getting interrupted.
Has your faith ever been interrupted?
This ought to provide some comfort to you today as our lives are filled with “What now?” moments like we are experiencing right now!
Jesus’s meeting with the fishermen was not coincidental, but intentional.
Each disciple was hand-picked with God’s unexposed gifting hidden and untapped for such a time as that.
What gifting does God have lying dormant in you?
Jeremiah 29:11
There is a plan!
1 Corinthians 2:9-10
Who has the plan?
Who knows what they are?
How will you know them?
Psalm 145:17-18
1 Corinthians 2:11-12
1 Corinthians 2:13
1 Corinthians 2:14
Everything that happened to the disciples was already known to God.
You are reacting but God has already seen it and is in control.
This time last year we had no idea we had an appointment with an interruption in the form of a pandemic, but God already knew.
God’s plan for you is pandemic proof!
- Appointment: a meeting at a particular time and place
Pardon the Interruption
- Appointment: the act of being appointed
John 15:16
- Chosen
and then - Appointed.
No Appointment – No Fruit
He appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit.
Step 1: Chosen
Step 2: Appointed
Step 3: Acting
Step 4: Bearing Fruit
Steps 1 and 2 have nothing to do with you. Step 3 is an act of faith by you that produces step 4, which is the harvest of your active faith.
We don’t have to wonder what to do in times like these.
Jesus said, tell them what I told you, and do what I did!
Ephesians 4:8
Whose people?
This interruption is an opportunity to go to God for the details.
This interruption is an occasion to go to God!
As he did with the disciples, God has deposited in you something, for times like these to elevate you to your calling!
God’s interruptions, are pregnant with blessings.
Proverbs 16:1
There is a certain amount of peace people have who trust God.
John 14:27
Those who serve Him, will experience a different level of peace.
Faith can’t be tested until it’s needed.
Where is your faith?
Sometimes an interruption of the natural part of our lives is needed, so that God can grow supernatural in us.
Peter’s faith was increased by the interruption.
What souls will you impact for God?
Proverbs 16:3
How much of your plan are you willing to sacrifice for God’s?
