Pity from the Pit
“I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”

3 types of pits:

  1. Pit of


    (lost, without salvation, apart from God)

  2. Pit of


    (You got yourself there, mistakes)

  3. Pit of
    (trials,tribulations, emotions)
    -We must identify where we are before we can escape.

I. The


He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay.

-God will bring you from the pit to the pillar.
-I don’t understand those that claim to be Christian’s but there is no stability about them.
-On Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand!

And established my goings.

-tho you don’t see it now, the pit prepares you for the path. The path will lead you to the promise.
-he hasn’t saved you for no reason!
-is the preparation that went into your life being wasted?
-where are you headed?
-dont live in the pit when God has a palace prepared for you! (LoDebar, mephibosheth)
