Everyday Jesus: Everyday Jesus is a great way to deepen your Bible reading, prayer life & personal time with Christ.
• Monday: Read the first 2 chapters of Luke. As you read, notice (underline) the statements of God moving people where He needs them to be to connect with the greater story of the birth of Christ. Pray to the Lord for understanding of how where you have been, where you are now and where He is directing you in the new year, to connect to the greater message of God.
• Tuesday: Read Lk 2:1-14 God directed Jospeh & Mary to Bethlehem where Christ was born. It wasn’t random, instead “in the same region”, shepherds were out in the field. An angel of the Lord appeared and spoke “good news of great joy” to these shepherds. The good news was the birth of Christ. Meditate and praise God for your own testimony of knowing Christ is God. How did God reveal this “good news of great joy” to your soul.
• Wednesday: [Day of Fasting] Read Lk 2:1-14 The birth of Christ, is the earthly entrance of “a Savior, who is Christ the Lord”. I shared a story in the message of a friend that questions, “What do I need a Savior for”. Do you know why you need a savior? Why did Christ need to be born. In your prayer time, make it personal, confess your need and constant desire for Christ to be your savior.
• Thursday: Read Lk 2:1-14, Acts 2:36 The birth of Christ gave us a Savior that is also Christ. Christ is not a meaningless name. Instead it is a specific designation that He is the long awaited “anointed One”. The soul & circumstance of man need a Savior and only Jesus was anointed to heal the fracture of the soul. Today, praise God for, Christ coming into the world to take away your sin, give you access to God the Father and saving your soul from God’s wrath.
• Friday: Read Lk 2:14 Jesus is the Lord! Like Savior and Christ, Lord is a specific designation. The declaration that Jesus is the Lord is a specific claim of surrender, that He can, will and must have control and authority over every aspect of our life. Regardless of past prayers, today, confess your total surrender to Christ as the Lord of your life. As you do so, ask God what specifically you need to surrender and allow His lordship to expand - in your life.
