“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” —Psalm 139:23-24
1. Ask God to search your heart

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” —Galatians 5:22
2. Ask God to reveal your anxious thoughts

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” —1 John 4:4
3. Ask the Lord to uncover any hidden sin

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” —Matthew 7:3
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” —James 5:16
4. Ask the Lord to lead you
David’s Prayer: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” —Psalm 139:23-24
