SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS
Warm Up Question:
Do you love or hate the idea of being quiet?
HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
1. Have five different people look up these five passages about quiet and rest. Psalm 46:10, Isaiah 30:15-16, Psalm 23:1-3, Luke 5:15-16, Mark 6:30-32
2. Make a few observations about: What these passages say about solitude and silence/quiet? Why we need solitude/silence/quiet?
HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
3. Of the obstacles that can keep us from solitude and silence mentioned in the sermon, which is the biggest for you? (Noise: A constantly noisy society; Productivity: Feeling like you constantly need to be going producing, achieving; Structure: Our plan/quiet time/plan that might oppose simply going to God versus coming to Him to focus and listen)
4. How would you answer the question “When does your soul rest (not escape, hide, be passive or distracted), - truly rest?
HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
5. What is most attractive to you about finding God in solitude and silence?
6. What would it look like to chuck the excuses and make this a priority?
