Sermon Discussion Guide

Big Idea:

“Because Jesus is greater than all of that. And because Jesus is greater, he deserves your worship. And not only does he deserve your worship, he commands you to worship him. Not as a tyrant. Not out of selfishness. He commands you to worship him for your eternal good. For those who worship Christ are those whose hearts are not hardened but are full of life because they believe in the One who gives life because he is the way, the truth, and the life. This Christmas season, why not believe in him who is greater than Moses, in him who is the greatest of all?”

How were you impacted by the message this week?

How have you seen God at work in your life or the life of others?

Read: Hebrews 3:1-6, Psalm 99:6

Moses was great at speaking on behalf of God and was a priest. So why is Jesus greater?

Moses served God faithfully and was a great leader who cared for his house well, but again we learned Jesus is greater, why?

Read: Hebrews 3:7-19, Mark 4:3-20

How are we to respond to Jesus in worship and praise? We learned five distinct ways to glorify Christ as well as magnify his name, value, and beauty. What were they?

As you look at each of them individually, which one do you struggle with sometimes? Which one is your favorite? Were any of the five new to you or a surprise?

As we look to the Christmas season, why is Jesus Christ greater than Moses? Why is this a good reminder this time of year?
