EXODUS 34:6-8
And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.” 8 Moses bowed to the ground at once and worshiped.

GOD IS FAITHFUL TO HIS CHARACTER
HEBREWS 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
ISAIAH 55:6-9
Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. 8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
GOD IS FAITHFUL TO HIS COVENANTS
GENESIS 12:1-3
The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. 2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
NEHEMIAH 9:16-18
“But they, our ancestors, became arrogant and stiff-necked, and they did not obey your commands. 17 They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them, 18 even when they cast for themselves an image of a calf and said, ‘This is your god, who brought you up out of Egypt,’ or when they committed awful blasphemies.
“When we say that God is faithful, we don’t mean you’ll never experience suffering. A lot of people - in particular, Americans misinterpret God’s faithfulness to mean some kind of promise to give us life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. So when tragedy strikes or the economy goes south or our child test positive or we don’t find a spouse by thirty we think God is unfaithful. But that’s a gross misreading of God’s promise to Abraham. God never said we would live trouble-free. Honestly, Jesus made the opposite promise: “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. This is one of the many promises in the Bible we tend to skip over and ignore.” (p. 208, God Has a Name)
What has God promised?
He will bless you, so you can turn around and do the same for others. (Gen. 12:2-3)
If we search for Him we will find Him (Deut. 4:29)
Comfort in trials (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
Salvation to all those who believe in His Son (John 3:16)
That Jesus will return (John 14:2-3)
HEBREWS 11:11
And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.
EXODUS 34:10-14
The Lord replied, “Listen, I am making a covenant with you in the presence of all your people. I will perform miracles that have never been performed anywhere in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people around you will see the power of the Lord—the awesome power I will display for you. 11 But listen carefully to everything I command you today. Then I will go ahead of you and drive out the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. 12 “Be very careful never to make a treaty with the people who live in the land where you are going. If you do, you will follow their evil ways and be trapped. 13 Instead, you must break down their pagan altars, smash their sacred pillars, and cut down their Asherah poles. 14 You must worship no other gods, for the Lord, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about his relationship with you.
GOD IS FAITHFUL TO HIS CHILDREN
DEUTERONOMY 7:9
Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.
