I Can’t, God Can,

.

  • I make a conscious decision to commit all my life and will to Jesus’ care and control.
  • Matthew 11:28-30 “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.””

Things that keep us from committing to Christ:

  • - “I don’t want to admit I need help.”
    • Proverbs 18:12 “Haughtiness goes before destruction; humility precedes honor.”
  • - “I’m ashamed to ask God for help.”
    • Psalm 40:12 “For troubles surround me—too many to count! My sins pile up so high I can’t see my way out. They outnumber the hairs on my head. I have lost all courage.”
  • - “I’m afraid of what I might have to give up.”
    • Mark 8:36-37 “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?”
  • - “I don’t have all the answers so I can’t make up my mind.”
    • 1 Peter 5:7 “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
    • Philippians 1:6 “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
  • - “I want to believe but I don’t really know for sure.”
    • Mark 9:24 “The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”
    • Matt 17:20 ““You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.””

When you say “I’ll let Him” you are saying…

  1. I accept as the of my life.
  2. I accept God’s as the in my life.
    • 2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”
  3. I accept God’s as the for my life.
    • Psalm 40:8 “I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.””
  4. I accept God’s as the of my life.
    • Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
