Nehemiah 1:1-11

Verse 1-3: Report from Jerusalem - people and city in trouble.
Verse 4: Nehemiah has physical, emotional & spiritual response to the news.

The physical and spiritual distress and destruction of God’s people deeply concerned Nehemiah and drove him to prayer and action

Verse 5-6: Reminds God of His covenant faithfulness.
Verse 6-7: Nehemiah views this situation as spiritual. Interceeds for Israel.
Verse 8-10: Reminds God of His covenant promise to His people.
Verse 11: Requests favor for his action plan.
