THREE DIMENSIONS OF GOD’S MISSION FOR US

Three ways to join God’s plan:
Open a map and your Bible and ask, “
Open your calendar and ask, “
Open your life and ask, “
1) What does it mean that God (through Jesus) wants us to have a flourishing life? (1 Tim 6:17; John 10:10) What does a flourishing life NOT mean?
What does it mean to live a life on mission?
2) Read the following passages that point to the Great Commission. The number one message Jesus spoke to the disciples in the last 40 days of his ministry on earth was a calling to do what?
3) Read the following passages out loud together, then ask everyone to ask the three questions from the Discovery Bible study method: What do these passages teach me about God? What do these passages teach me about myself? What do these passages ask me to do?
Here are the passages: Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; John 20:21; Luke 24:47-48; Matthew 24:14; Acts 1:8
4) What kind of people does Jesus call to live out His mission? (Acts 1:2; 4:13)
5) How did Jesus’s disciples impact the world in which they lived? (Acts 17:6)
6) What kind of thoughts come to your mind when you consider this statement: “God does uncommon things with common people?”
7) What provides power for our mission? If God’s mission was so important, why do you think that the first thing Jesus told them to do was to wait? (Acts 1:4-5)
8) What is God’s plan or strategy for carrying out the mission to make disciples in every nation?
9) How will you, in the next six months, alter and reprioritize your life to pursue not only a flourishing life but a life on mission? Be practical and authentic.
