Ongoing friendship with the world puts us in league with the enemy.
Several questsions need to be answered from our text…
What is the world?
The satanically influenced spirit of the age.
The godless value system of fallen mankind.
What makes a person a friend of the world?
The love of pleasure (v. 1)
The desire for things (v. 2)
The idol of covetousness (v. 2)
What does friendship with the world produce?
Spiritual
But this is not who we are in Christ!
