Matthew 7:13-29 | Rocks will Testify
Rev. Christopher White
April 2, 2023

Once again, we see the two choices before us this morning
Kingdom
Healing vs. disease
Blessings in unexpected places
You’ve heard it said but I say to you
Truth over playacting

As Jesus concludes, that continues showing us how life in the kingdom is different
3 sections

Wide Gate, Narrow Gate
Enter a city through a gate
Called to a harder, narrow way

False Prophets
Jesus warns us
God knows that people will use him to advance themselves
Wonder - why does he allow it?
Thunderbolts seem designed for this!
We’d all get them…so in his mercy, he holds back

Warns us
Know they come in sheep’s clothing
Know their fruit

Rock, Sand
Two choices - sand or rock
Build - Jesus the craftsman
How - not performance or prestige
Hear and Do
Not one without the other

Over there
Dead Sea
Sinkholes
Rock
Capernaum
Still there

Rocks testify - they hold
Jesus on Palm Sunday
Rocks testify - the truth will come out
Next Sunday
after the cross - disgusting exectution
Rock testifies - tomb testifies - it is empty

So, come to the table
Thankful that Christ has made a way
Now, because of his arrival
We can hear the Word
ears and hearts
By the Spirit
Fruit!

No playacting, no performance, no wide gates
We seek to hear and do
Let’s come to the table
