Prayer Boot Camp-Lesson 2
MATTHEW 6:9-10 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
MOTIVES FOR PRAYER: MATTHEW 6:9-10
Greater intimacy with your heavenly Father
Greater exaltation of His name

Rescue: Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one
1. Praise: Hallowed be Your name.
Hallowed: Set apart and deem sacred and special.
What? Praise is a positive verbal response to the person of God.
Why? Praise opens the path to the presence of God. (Psalm 100:4).
Praise changes our perspective and builds our faith.
How? We can declare His unique attributes. He alone is infinite, eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and perfect.
His unlimited, unfathomable, unconditional attributes such as love, compassion, mercy, kindness, grace, generosity, truth, justice, righteousness, and holiness.
His unsurpassed excellences such as glory, majesty, and beauty.
His titles and roles: Creator, Father, King of kings and Lord of Lords, Savior, Counselor, Shepherd, Physician, Friend, Teacher, Deliverer, and only true God.
His mighty works: Creation, salvation, provision, protection, direction.
I especially want to praise God for:
2. Surrender: Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven
God’s kingdom is where God exercise His domain, His rule, and His reign on earth as it is in heaven.
What? Surrender is yielding every facet of our lives to God’s rule and reign.
It is accepting God’s way as better than our own.
It is dying to something we hold dear so that God may bring it back to life and bless it, if and how He so desires.
Surrender is letting go of what we deem good so that the Father may give us what He knows to be best. It is the key that frees us from the prison of self. It is giving all we know of ourselves to all we know of God.
Why? Surrender to God was the first act of worship (Genesis 22:1-6)
Surrender to God is the only way to know and experience the will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)
Surrender to the Father was the model of Jesus. (Luke 22:42; Philippians 2:5-11)
Every area of my life that has not been surrendered is an area the enemy will attack and an area where I will lack authority in prayer.
I surrender my life to God.
List things that are very important to you.
Then give each one to the Lord asking that only His will be done.
