Aligning Values
Healthy doesn’t happen by accident.
Your values determine your culture.
Every church, business organisation or family has a culture.
You either have it by default or by design.
You can have a sign on the wall, but if you don’t use it to make course corrections and make decisions, you will drift into your culture by default.
WE WILL DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO REACH PEOPLE.
1. We do
we can, but we can’t do
!
We are all uniquely equipped with unique ingredients that we can use to reach people.
The opposite is also true. There are some things we are uniquely ill-equipped to do, and then there are things that we can do, but when we do them, we dilute the things we are most equipped to do.
Let me simplify it for you :
There are things you should do.
There are things you shouldn’t do.
There are things you could do.
So when we say we will do everything we can, we still need everyone else to do what they can.
So again, you can’t do everything, but you can do something.
Our values help us to live in our sweet spot.
We do everything we can, but we can’t do everything.
- you can’t do everything but you can do something.
- We will do anything short of sin to reach people who don’t know Christ.
To reach people no one is
2. As long as there is still
, we will continue to
the Church (Ark) in spite of the scoffers.
Most of the time, Scoffer’s problem with scripture and the church is not intellectual but moral. Walking according to their own lusts. It is intense to think that there is a God who created me, and I am responsible to Him. Mankind rebels against that knowledge. We don’t want it to be true.
- His long-suffering and patience and the gift of repentance. His desire is for all people to be saved.
- The Return and Judgement is held off because of God’s desire for lost people to be saved.
- Our urgency comes from our faith in Jesus. People without faith have no urgency. - Our urgency comes from our faith in Jesus. People without faith have no urgency.
For Christians this present life is the closest they will come to Hell. For unbelievers, it is the closest they will come to Heaven. —Randy Alcorn
When we look at the life of Jesus, we see how His
moved Him to
.
Mat 14:13 As soon as Jesus heard the news, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone. But the crowds heard where he was headed and followed on foot from many towns.
Mat 14:14 Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. —Matt 14
(DEEPER DIVE MAT 14:1-12 What was the news Jesus heard that weighed so heavy? What does this reveal about the depth of compassion Jesus has for people?)
quickly, and show others
, just as God has done for
.
People are the most
Our heart is for
All people are loved by Jesus.
We make no apologies for being specifically focused on reaching those far away from God.
We desire to bring the broken
We believe that our light is best seen in the night.
