HOW TO BE DISSATISFIED

But godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.
But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
- 1 Timothy 6:6-8

Our satisfaction does not come from the receiving of great gifts - but it is on the giver.

And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop.
He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’
“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.
And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”
“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you…
“This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God.”
Luke 12:16-21

The world is your biggest teacher.

STEP 1: BECOME GREAT AT BEING UNGRATEFUL.

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe…

STEP 2: COMPARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE MORE.

We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.
2 Corinthians 10:12

STEP 3: PURSUE TEMPORARY POSSESSIONS OVER ETERNAL TREASURES.

“Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
Luke 12:15

STEP 4: RESENT GOD FOR WHERE YOU ARE IN LIFE.

2 You are God my stronghold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?
Psalm 43:2

STEP 5: DEVELOP AN ATTITUDE OF ENTITLEMENT.

For the wages of sin is death
Romans 6:23

HOW WE LIVE REVEALS WHAT WE BELIEVE

But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.
What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ
Philippians 3:7-8
