Life Group Questions – Aug 14th & 15th, 2021

This weekend Pastor Al started a new series called Setting Things in Order: Common Faith based in Titus1:1-4.

Pastor Al started out with 1 Corinthians 14:12 and the fact that we should have the spirit of mutual edification for the church.

Mutual edification starts with common faith. What are some things you could bring to the body of Christ but aren’t (gifts, skills, time, money)?
What are some areas in your life where you feel the Holy Spirit moving and teaching you? Could God use these areas for His glory in the church.

Being a bond servant of Christ was important to Paul in the book of Titus, and it should be to us too. Pastor Al made this clear in saying we are all called to Him if we have surrendered to Him.

Have a couple people in the group share their walk to becoming a bond servant in Christ.
Are we still living with that zeal when we committed ourselves to being a bond servant? What are some things that have gotten in the way of our servitude?

Pastor Al stated three points about our common faith, the first being we have common salvation, our foundation in Christ.

Have we elevated other things, religiosity, feeling, etc. above our salvation in Christ and what the bible says that means?
How does Gods grace change the way we look at believers and non-believers around us? Is salvation in Christ limited? How can this unite believers and empower evangelism?

Pastor Al’s second subpoint was common truth and how it is transformative truth and not just religious information. Truth is ultimate and not relative.

How is relative truth destructive in our lives, the world and even in the church?
Gods ultimate truth has power and authority in our lives, to what extent do you still need to submit to that in your own life? What are some examples or proofs in scripture for the power and authority in Truth?

Pastor Al’s third subpoint was common hope.

What is hope if it is not in God and His promises? Can there be any true hope apart from Him? How does hope through Christ gain authority and become our only true hope?
How can the understanding of our common salvation, truth and hope shed light on the unification of the body of Christ? What is Gods heart for us to do with this information? What is your action plan?
