Luke 6:12–19 (ESV): In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God. 13 And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles: 14 Simon, whom he named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip, and Bartholomew, 15 and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot, 16 and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor. 17 And he came down with them and stood on a level place, with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, 18 who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. And those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured. 19 And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all

Application:
Jesus depended on prayer and ultimtely God for all aspects of his life, relationships, and work. He desires the same for us.
This week there are practical steps we can take to begin to build habits that grow our prayer life, and dependence on God.
- Find time throughout the day to get alone with God. First thing in the morning is good, but if that is not possible any time works. Silence phones, tv, and other devices and spend time with God in prayer. (if you are new to this do not feel bad for how long you spend with God. Simply start this discipline and seek to add time each ay as you can)
- Pray God’s word to Him. This is simple, but so beautiful. Take one verse and simple pray it to God. Praying Gods word can look like this. “God your word says (insert verse) help me to meditate on that truth today. Help me to understand that truth more and help this truth to draw me to you and lead me to worship and desire you more.”
- Pray for people in your life that you have relationships with and ask God to help you invest in them intentionally, and ask Him to bring people in your life to invest in you.
- Pray that He would help you join Him on mission, and that He would show you what that looks like and what that means. This is a purpose Jesus has given all his disciples, ask Him to reveal how He wants to use you for that mission, and the word He is already doing.
