4 Motivations Behind Our “YES”
When we’ve run out of “yes’s” we’re left either
Is this Opportunity going to hinder or promote abiding with Jesus?
Is this Necessity in the right order of my greatest necessity?
Is this a Perception that really matters in light of how Jesus sees me?
Is this Obligation at the right time for the right reason?
CP GROUP QUESTIONS
1. Go around the group and share how each of you feel about your time and how you spend it. Limit it to how you feel today or this current season. Are you satisfied, in control, anxious, frusterated?
2. What is it about your time that has lead to what you previously shared? Is it the speed? The productivity (or lack)? The predictability (or lack)? What makes you feel the way you do about your time?
3. Review the 4 motvations behind our “yes.” Which motivations do you think are the hardest to say “no” to?
4. Abiding with Jesus is the greatest opportunity, necessity, perception & obligation. Walk through each of the 4 motives behind our yes with abiding as the key decision maker and discuss each, where it could lead to ‘yes’ & ‘no’ from your time.
Is this Opportunity going to hinder or promote abiding with Jesus?
Is this Necessity in the right order of my greatest necessity?
Is this a Perception that really matters in light of how Jesus sees me?
Is this Obligation at the right time for the right reason?
5. Chris spoke about how, even in light of Jesus permission, there isn’t always a clear path to saying ‘no.’ Even so, the invitation to abide with Jesus is always availalbe to redeem the chaos of our calendars. But what does that look like? Get practical and share how you can stay in abidance (connection; dependance; continuance) with Jesus despite and in the midst of a full calendar.
